I came across your blog tonight. I don't usually stop and read blogs from people I don't know, but I did tonight. The entries I read were refreshing and I enjoyed reading them. I thought to myself - I bet she's LDS. I don't know how or why, but I'm drawn to LDS bloggers. It is like I can spot them a mile away (or maybe my spirit is leading me to them).
I'm LDS also and live in Vancouver Washington. I didn't see a link for an email address, so I am posting here. I'm a divorced single mom that is 42 and am currently not active in the church. Some comments you made really touched me. I want to thank you. It is the little things like blogging that I come across from time to time that remind me that I'm a daughter of Heavenly Father and that He really does love me, along with all of His children. It is easy to forget that sometimes in today's world.
I must go because it is getting really late and I have to get up in a couple of hours for work.
Keep blogging! I really enjoyed the music you shared - especially Mat Kearney. I saw him last summer in Portland with Owl City. They're both great to listen to.

Wow, I was really surprised to see that you found my blog. Thank you for your kind comments. I stopped blogging for a while because I have been busy and also felt like it wasn't doing anyone any good. But, if it helps at least on person besides myself, I will keep doing it.
About blogging - I haven't yet but have thought about it. Maybe if I had a theme to focus my blog on, it might be easier for me to put one together. Then there's the part about sharing too much personal information.
My hobbies are sewing, quilting, reading, spending time with my 15-year-old son, and occasionally I'll take a class at the college where I work.
Have you ever been to Portland? I was born and raised here. I've got cousins in Ogden, Logan, and St. George and was in Ogden for a family reunion in the summer of 2009.
I lived in Rexburg for 3 years back in the late 90s and was glad to move away because of the winters. It was like the snow didn't melt until May. The summers weren't so bad. I understand Rexburg's climate is rather similar to Sale Lake's. The thing that was hard to adjust to was the altitude. I'm pretty much at sea level here in Vancouver.
Did you get a chance to get your Book of Mormon read and given away by Christmas? Many years ago I would take the bus to work and would read my scriptures on the way there. By the end of the day, I was ready for a nap and didn't get as much read as in the mornings. I can remember waking up a couple of stops past my regular stop. Fortunately they were just a couple of blocks away.
I keep talking about taking my son to Salt Lake and showing him around Temple Square but we haven't set anything in stone yet. Maybe this summer. I love the living history that is all over the place.
I'll have to brainstorm about blogging subjects and figure out what would work for me. In the meantime, I'm going to get some rest. I think I caught the latest bug going around at work. Yuck!
